THE SETTLEMENT OF VYSHENKY 1 ON DESNA RIVER

In 2013, the Livoberezhna Archaeological Expedition made rescue excavations at Vyshenky 1 settlement near village Korop district of Chernihiv region. The is located on edge high right bank Desna River. excavation area 120 m2 more than 20 ancient household pits, a number post-holes and part building 1. addition to some finds Bronze Age Kyiv Rus main materials date 1st millennium AD.
 lower horizon (building 1, pits 4, 12, 20, 21, 23) belongs culture Late Roman period. was probably square semi-dwelling house with central pillar. Pottery represented mainly by pots weakly profiled ribbed forms. flattened biconical spindle whorls large hole, as well single fragments pottery were occurred in objects. typical Chernyakhiv pottery, fragment red slip bowl second half 4th beginning 5th centuries, unique for basin region, found. Obviously, this t possible final layer culture.
 upper sites Sakhnivka-Volyntsevo circle. Pits 6, 17—19, 22 contained convex-sided bent rims, usually ornamented finger impressions edge, frying pans. flattened-rounded clay ovoid blocks belong same period.
 hand-made from Sakhnivka type practically indistinguishable significant ceramics Volyntsevo culture, so different types which often occurs complexes becomes diagnostic sign. there are sometimes Pastyrske type, dating little later so-called “pots type”. However, only it difficult draw conclusion about its cultural chronological identification.
